Overview

Eg Qert Ckewveḡ was founded durring the late 14th century in spring of the year 1354, by Giant Ticks Råghurv. The establishment of Eg Qert Ckewveḡ was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Giant Ticks Råghurv electing to pay people to resettle in Eg Qert Ckewveḡ.

Eg Qert Ckewveḡ was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Eg Qert Ckewveḡ is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Eg Qert Ckewveḡ is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad packed earth streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. Eg Qert Ckewveḡ's millitarily questionable fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Eg Qert Ckewveḡ, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all preforming the same rituals to bless and anoint building,s streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holysymbols is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This town certainly loves its god.

Cultural Notes

Eg Qert Ckewveḡ's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Eg Qert Ckewveḡ.

The Zoog near Eg Qert Ckewveḡ are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Eg Qert Ckewveḡ's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves performance art to channel Illusion energies of tier 1 via moments of science.

Points of Interest

Eg Qert Ckewveḡ is remarkably well-fortified for a site of its size and role. Tall, stout walls, strong points inside the community, concentric defenses, a strategic terrain location, or a large body of standing troops might be present. Some threat is thought to exist that makes maintaining this fortification worthwhile, though it may come at a dear cost to the locals. The community’s suzerain may be uncomfortable with these defenses, as they could just as easily be used to defy the ruler.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Eg Qert Ckewveḡ was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Eg Qert Ckewveḡ lost 263 people, 391 livestock, and 70 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 37, when members of Eg Qert Ckewveḡ's militia enacted an operation to delay the operations of the enemy. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in victory for Eg Qert Ckewveḡ's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Eg Qert Ckewveḡ's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
